2010 Junior Program
The MHTC Junior Program is designed to provide maximum opportunity for the juniors to enjoy tennis and develop their playing skills. Leading the juniors this year are Cal Heller, Chris Johnston, Doug McLeod, Linda Norris, Joe Ciona, Jason McLester, Jim Hancock, Cory Streifel, and Craig and Una Weich but additional support from the club’s membership is encouraged and appreciated to ensure the success of this important program.
Novice and intermediate group lessons will run Saturdays on May 8, May 15, May 22, June 5, June 12 and June 26. The Saturday morning lesson schedule is as follows:
8 and under: 9 a.m. - 10 a.m.
10 and under: 10:15 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.
12 and under: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Teens: 12:45 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.
Advanced group lessons will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on May 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20 and June 1, 3, 8, 10, 22, 24.
Summer Program (July 6 - August 21):
During the summer months, MHTC will continue with a drop-in program on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9 a.m. - noon for the following age groups:
Mondays & Fridays: Ages 11-18
Wednesdays: Ages 5-10
Juniors will be exposed to a wide variety of fun tennis activities such as league play, mini tournaments, mentoring and skill building with adult volunteers acting as court supervisors. This program is open for all juniors, whether they have participated in the junior lesson program or not. We are charging half-price ($30) for junior players who want to participate in summer drop- in but haven’t gone through the spring lesson program.
